PLANNING PERMISSION

My tattoos would disqualify me from having an affair with Edward Monkford, the protagonist in The Girl Before, who absolutely disliked tattoos on women. Still, I adore mine, and what more relaxing way to spend the Saturday morning than getting a new tattoo? None! Here I am at Chris Mallas Tattoo Studio, where I got a new pretty tattoo on the cleavage. I will premiere it in The Lipstick Papers soon ðŸ˜€

Luckily, I feel no pain with tattoos. Chris has a very light touch too. I nearly fell asleep today ðŸ’„You can see how beautiful the two boys have made the studio.

Of course, this is not going to be the last tattoo! I have big plans ðŸ˜‡

P.S. Edward Monkford is, for me, the best book boyfriend after Christian Grey

THE WORD "LIPSTICK"

Getting ready to dye my hair on this #typefacetuesday! Thankfully, Brigitte Bardot made blonde hair with black roots fashionable, so no problem here ðŸ’„ You know I am addicted to typeface and fonts. Here I show two of my favorite Greek fonts! The fondu recipe font you see is the font I love most of all. Sometimes I buy books just because they are set in this font!

The opposite also happens: I will not buy a book if I dislike the fonts.
As for the English language, I adore the Palatino Linotype and Book Antiqua. I also love less favorite fonts, such as Times and Comic Sans!

The printing press is probably the most fantastic invention after writing itself. Also, the word "Lipstick" is most beautiful, whatever the font. Enjoy the Typeface Tuesday! ðŸ’‹❤️🌹👠😀

THAT 70s SHOW (REASONS TO EXPECT AUTUMN PART ONE)

I finally have reasons to look forward to autumn -you know that I only love summer- and of course both have to do with fashion! Unexpectedly I found myself with some free time downtown and I bought these two lovely autumn knits from Stradivarius. They were on sale €7 each. The gold beige color is uniquely beautiful, and the crisp white is always a favorite. So I am looking forward to autumn to wear these!

The unexpected is always exciting, but don't remind me of the 1970s TV show Tales of the Unexpected ðŸ˜µ It was so scary!!! I was very small and watched it from the couch half asleep, not understanding much except that I was scared. Back then we only had one TV channel in Cyprus, the state channel CyBC, so everyone watched the same things (which were selected by the government).
Less well known is that Tales of the Unexpected was written by Roald Dahl, who sometimes appeared to introduce episodes ðŸ˜±

Have a good Sunday, always with beauty and a book! ❤️💋💄👠🌹

MERITORIOUS

Ignore the pile of unfolded clothes in the background- an arrival from Amazon always merits a post! ðŸ˜€ Just received these today, a Victorian doll tale, the legendary Emily Post guide to Etiquette and Amy Vanderbilt's etiquette too. The importance of good manners cannot be overemphasized. Personally, I am well mannered and ladylike unless someone treats me really badly or unfairly. I try to keep my manners even if others are behaving obviously obnoxiously.

Today, I just wish I could curl somewhere and read Emily Post all at once. Sadly, this is not possible in my flat. The neighbors are paranoid with noise. It's no longer my flat, but theirs, and my time belongs to them.

I guess no amount of etiquette books can teach certain people ðŸ¤”

DONALD DUCK BAKING TIPS

When I think of cakes, the first thing that comes to mind is -not Nigella Lawson, Bake Off, Mary Berry, or even Mrs Joe from Charles Dickens, but Donald Duck! Yes, Donald Duck, in a chef's hat, baking a magnificent cake to calm himself down after he quarreled with a noxious neighbor. Here I am at a nice cake shop the other day ðŸ’‹Though I neither bought nor tasted any of their products, I loved the decor, so I stepped in! I guess I am not great at promotions, haha ðŸ˜€ I can't vouchsafe for the cakes but the shop is lovely, and it is called Cake Queens. It's here in Larnaca, near Hermes Square.

For great baking scenes, it's not only Disney and Donald, but also literature. Have a look at Jane Eyre, David Copperfield and Great Expectations. Who can forget Mrs Joe's Christmas pie? No one!
Have a good evening, always with beauty and a book! ðŸ’‹ðŸ˜€ðŸ‘ ❤️💄💄💄
