LET US NOT BE TOO STRICT

Literature heroines wouldn't give me the thumbs up for my shopping mania - think Jane Eyre's reluctance to take expensive gifts from Mr Rochester- but women's history certainly would! Shops and shopping centers were among the first public spaces where women were allowed access. Middle- and upper-class women were traditionally kept in the private sphere; working class women were looked down upon for getting out of the house to, erm, actually walk to work!

Madness, you will say, but it was true for centuries, millennia even!
You can see me here in a lovely new store in Anexartisias called Kelly's. I really love it! How amazing it is is obvious from the shop windows. I bought some really pretty stuff, which I will premiere in The Lipstick Papers soon 😀The original store is in Greece, the merchandise is Italian. No wonder it's so pretty. Nothing beats Italian! The prices are very good too.

As for Jane Eyre, let us not be too strict with her lack of love for shopping. What Jane doesn't like is Mr Rochester buying things for her, she prefers to buy with her own money.

Other than that, Jane declares that she enjoys dressing well and looking good.
Have a good night, always with beauty and a book! 💋💄🌹👠💝😀🎶💋💄💄
