A.K.A.

The moment I saw Cup a Cake I knew that I wanted to write about it- it's so pretty! The curvy tent, carved white wood facade and cake plates give me a feel of Italy, a.k.a. the most beautiful country in the world. The owner is tremendously kind. He not only took the photos, but also gave me a free cupcake! Angel's Cup gave me free coffee last week. See? The Lipstick Papers is making money already!!! đŸ˜€

I loved the free vanilla cupcake which you can see in the pic. If I didn't fear the calories, I would eat five or six more. Yum! đŸ˜‹
However, as with everything, we have to take cupcakes in moderation.

Have a good evening, taking beauty always with you! XxxđŸ’‹đŸ’„đŸ‘ đŸ©đŸ˜€❤️💄
P.S. Let me mention that everything at Cup a Cake is home-made.

A TRAIL OF LIPSTICKS

Look at this beauty today! Morgan racing car outside the Nero cafe in Oroklini. It was simply beautiful!! You can also notice that I have premiered this amazing skirt with a train. Skirts with train are very much in fashion now, like they were for the Victorians. Of course, for the Victorians the front part was also long.

The subject of cars is a bit sensitive for me. Personally, I drive a 25 year old Toyota. I can't afford to change it; that I will ever get another car, let alone a new one, seems highly unlikely. Still, I love my old baby very much. For me, it's equally beautiful to the Morgan. My dream is to paint a trail of lipsticks all across the length. Can you imagine what it will feel like, to drive a Lipstick car??? Glory!!! đŸ’„đŸ’„đŸ’„đŸ’„

Have a good Sunday evening, always with beauty and a book! Xxx đŸ’„đŸ’‹❤️đŸŒč👠😀

A GOOD FASHION PLAN

Standardized time was an invention of the 19th century, when the railway timetables and shifts at the factories meant that the same time had to be kept everywhere. It's a special evening for time tonight: here I am waiting for Earth Hour and the new Summer Time!!! This is one of the happiest moments for The Lipstick Papers. There are few things I love more than daytime and the sun. There is a suggestion to keep summer time all year long, and double summer time in the actual summer. I say go for it!

Better weather also means I can wear skirts to show off my tattoos. Trousers for winter, skirts for summer. This, I reckon, is a good fashion plan.
Victorian novels are full of the notions of passing time, from Miss Temple's golden watch in Jane Eyre, to the large ominous clock in Lady Audley's Secret, to the clock ticking midnight in A Christmas Carol.
Make the most of your time wherever you are, and take beauty always with you! Xxx😀❤️💋👠đŸŒč💄

BRIGHT, YOU SHINE LIKE AN ANGEL

I became interested in Angels when I wrote Stranger's Mirror, a novel where the male protagonist is half Angel. When I was writing the book, I listened to any song about Angels I could find on YouTube. When I saw the sign Angel's Cup today, of course I stepped in! Any moment is great for an Angel's discovery, and here I am this afternoon đŸ˜‡

The cafe is in a renovated stone building, in Limassol. It's so pretty that every corner seems to be touched by an Angel. The owner, whom I met, is lovely and kind. She opened the cafe last year, and it turned out we had dear common friends đŸ˜€

I was really impressed with the good taste with which everything is done, and I couldn't stop taking pictures. The coffee and cakes are also great đŸ©
Have a good evening, always with beauty and a book! Xxx

A SEA CAVE HOME

These are of course amongst the moments I truly wish I were a Mermaid! To fall into the windblown sea, and ride the storm towards a sea cave home! đŸ˜€ I love Mermaids, I believe in them, and write about them too. Eliza, my protagonist in Mermaid Mirror, as well as her double Marianne, are both descended from Mermaids.

A famous Ancient Greek who was linked to Mermaids was none other than Alexander the Great. He had a Mermaid sister who was immortal, and is reportedly still alive today. The Ancient Greeks believed in Mermaids, Sirens, the monstrous Gorgons, and the beautiful Sea Nymphs. One such Nymph was Kito (Κητώ) the Nymph responsible for sea monsters. Her name comes from kitos, ÎșÎźÏ„ÎżÏ‚, the Ancient Greek word for sea monster.

When a human protagonist is also a mermaid, this has symbolic or psychological undertones for the whole novel. For me, however, Mermaids are also real. Eliza is part Mermaid because, for me, this can well be true đŸ˜Ž
